Shri Vasudeo Kamath, A stalwart in the art of Portrait Painting of contemporary Indian art, Shri Vasudeo Kamath is the Founder Trustee and visionary of this mission. His contribution towards creating awareness for Art and Artists in common people and also to bridge the gap between art and the Society, is immense. He travels all over India for this mission with slideshows and talk shows and also with painting demonstrations in various mediums. For the aspiring artists his books ‘Portrait’, ‘ Sketching and Drawing’and ‘My paintings my thoughts” have been guiding and inspiring source.
After receiving G.D.Art in painting from Sir J.J. school of Art Mumbai 1977 in first class first with distinction and GOLD medal, he continued his art journey through painting portraiture, landscapes, meaningful conceptual and subjective paintings. He has had many worthy solo exhibitions and also participated in major art society shows. He has bagged many prestigious awards, to name a few ‘Annual Art Exhibition-‘GOLD Medal’, Bombay Art Society- ‘GOLD Medal’, ‘The Draper grand Prize by portrait society of America’, Salon international, San Diego water color society and many more. He works in all mediums and equally masters in handlings water colors with its nature of flow and transparency. Besides landscapes and portraits Vasudeo paints the visions of his inner self. These visions are conceived from innocent curiosity of a child at one level and at the other, from saintly wisdom of a profound thinker. His conceptual paintings are representations of the deep rooted subconscious of mankind. His subjective paintings are the result of his extensive study and research of the subject being depicted. Being the Contemporary Portrait Maestro he has to his credit the honor of painting the eminent personalities of this country, the most prestigious being the live portrait of ex President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil and the present Hon. President of India Shri Pranav Mukherji.
His paintings are exhibited in National and International Galleries and his Demonstrations, Lectures and Slide shows are the guided, inspiring sources for artists, art students and aspiring artists along with people in general for understanding and practicing the art of painting.
He has devoted himself for creating awareness amongst the people for the importance of Art and to bridge the gap between Artists and Society. For this he has accepted the responsibility as the President of The Art Society of India and the Bombay Art Society and he is nominated all India President of Sanskar Bharati . For replenishing the dignity of Art Of Portraiture and to sustain the faith of Artists and Society in representational Art, he has founded the “The Portrait Artists’ Group”and is the founder Chair person of the Trust.
Gayatri Mehta, basically a self taught artist, a commerce graduate and a post gradate in literature accomplished her Masters in Visual Arts with Portraiture in 2013 securing Distinction from S N D T University. She has to her credit a certificate course in Aesthetics from Mumbai University. She is Ex- Hon. Secretary of The Art Society of India and Hon. Ex. Jt. Secretary of The Bombay Art Society. She has also been the Hon. Secretary of V A Mali Centenary Celebration and also successfully conducted Demonstrations of 17 Eminent Artists in Art Plaza Silver Jubilee being on the Advisory Board. She has to her credit many group and solo shows in prestigious galleries including Jehangir Art Gallery, Nehru Center Art Gallery etc. She has participated in shows by invitation including Art Fusion organized by Nehru Center and Colors of Life organized by CPAA. She has been invited for Art Camps organized by eminent Art Organizations and also invited as a member of Jury in many art competitions. She is also invited for Demonstrations of Portrait painting by Art Centers and Art Colleges including Kanoria Center for the Arts. She is also on the panel of Translators for the Encyclopedia of Artists of Maharashtra, a project of Pundole Art Gallery.
Her paintings are in collections of eminent connoisseurs and public places in India including that of Shri Narendra Mody, Shri Navin Jindal, Smt. Sangita Jindal, Smt. Urmila Kanoria, Smt. Prafulla Dahanukar, etc.
Ajay Patil An engineer by profession and painter by passion is how he can be simply described. Although he does not have any formal education in field of art ,his association with organizations such as Sanskarbharti and Art society of India enabled him to learn from fellow artist and also provided opportunity to get guidance from masters. While he paints in various mediums,Watercolour remains preferred medium. With about dozen group shows and couple of solo shows to credit,he successfully ventures into field of realistic paintings
